  • Muammar Gaddafi: Obituary

A senior National Transitional Council official has said that deposed Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi has died of his wounds after being captured near his hometown of Sirte. Muammar Gaddafi came to power in 1969 in a coup at the age of 27 and went on to rule Libya for 42 years with an iron fist. He has left Libya in tatters and despite the vast oil wealth, a vast majority of Libyans still live on about $2 a day and 40 per cent remain unemployed. Gaddafi wanted to be the leader of the Arab world and modeled himself on Egyptian leader Gamal Abdel Nasser. He published the Green Book which established rule of the people but in reality he exercised absolute power. The former Libyan leader was accused of bombing Pan Am Flight 103 in Scotland, a charge he always denied. After this Libya remain...

Some believe it [the NATO/US-led Libyan invasion] is about protecting civilians, others say it is about oil, but some are convinced intervention in Libya is all about Gaddafi's plan to introduce the gold dinar, a single African currency made from gold, a true sharing of the wealth. Gaddafi did not give up. In the months leading up to the military intervention, he called on African and Muslim nations to join together to create this new currency that would rival the dollar and euro. They would sell oil and other resources around the world only for gold dinars. It is an idea that would shift the economic balance of the world. "If Gaddafi had an intent to try to re-price his oil or whatever else the country was selling on the global market and accept something else as a currency or ma...

Having siezed power in a military coup at at the age of 27, he imposed a pan-Arab, anti-imperialist philosophy that won him both friends and enemies. Despite admitting that he had a nuclear weapons programme, he was tolerated by the international community because of Libya's rich oil deposits, a dwindling international resource. Gaddafi: The Endgame - State of Denial State of Denial is the story of the fall of the Gaddafi regime as told by the insiders, defectors and military advisors who helped to bring it about. Written and directed by Anne Reevell of Moonbeam Films, the film offers a revealing behind-the-scenes account of a revolution, a slice of history in which people took back power. "The disintegration of the Gaddafi regime in Libya surprised and confused the world - not because it happened in the first place, but because Gaddafi's government remained convinced it could prevail - despite defections, NATO airstrikes and a popular mass uprising," says Reevell. As the rebels continue to advance towards Tripoli, the Libyan authorities there are in a state of denial, convinced they can still talk to the British government, denouncing the foreign media, burning the homes of Libyan exiles and organising anti-NATO demonstrations in London. The message they relay says there is 'no compromise on leadership,' but do they mean it or are hairline fractures beginning to emerge? Using the oral diary of a Tripoli-based insider, as well as interviews with the UK prime minister's senior advisor on Libya and leading figures in Benghazi and Tripoli, State of Denial explores the demise of Gaddafi's powerbase and charts the twists and turns of a regime in denial. - Subscribe to our channel: http://aje.io/AJSubscribe - Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/AJEnglish - Find us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/aljazeera - Check our website: http://www.aljazeera.com/

Should Libyans want to take up a farming career, they receive farm land, a house, equipment, seed and livestock to kick start their farms –this was all for free. 6. When a Libyan woman gave birth she was given 5000 (US dollars) for herself and the child 6. Electricity was free, 100% 8. Petrol was dirt cheap, priced in a way anyone can afford it 9. Before Gadaffi only 25% of Libyans were literate. This figure was brought up to 87% with 25% earning university degrees. Gave so many benefits for Libyans for education 10. In Libya loans to citizens at 0% percent interest by law and they had no external debt. 11. A portion of Libyan oil sales is or was credited directly to the bank accounts of all Libyan citizens. 11. Libyan Govt was Debt free and $150 billion in cash reserves, compared to that United States is under $19 trillion in debt Gold Dinar: Mystery solved Hilary Clinton's emails shed light on another enigma remarked on by early commentators. Why, within weeks of initiating fighting, did the rebels set up their own central bank? Robert Wenzel wrote in The Economic Policy Journal in 2011: "This suggests we have a bit more than a rag tag bunch of rebels running around and that there are some pretty sophisticated influences. I have never before heard of a central bank being created in just a matter of weeks out of a popular uprising." It was all highly suspicious, but as Alex Newman concluded in a November 2011 article: "Whether salvaging central banking and the corrupt global monetary system were truly among the reasons for Gadhafi's overthrow ... may never be known for certain - at least not publicly." There the matter would have remained - suspicious but unverified like so many stories of fraud and corruption - but for the publication of Hillary Clinton's emails after an FBI probe. They add substantial weight to Newman's suspicions: violent intervention was not chiefly about the security of the people. It was about the security of global banking, money and oil. I am a Dutchman and I would have loved nothing more but to immigrate to Libya and start a new life over there. With a government by the people for the people. Stop the current chaos in Libya and return to its former glory. And yes I also wanted him to launch the gold dinar to destroy western economy. Then maybe finally it would be based on real value.

After this Libya remained under internatinal isolation for years. When the uprising gathered momentum earlier this year he blamed everyone, from US to al-Qaeda, and called the protesters rats and cats of Libya. Many will remember Gaddafi as the leader who set Libya back by many years.

"If Gaddafi had an intent to try to re-price his oil or whatever else the country was selling on the global market and accept something else as a currency or maybe launch a gold dinar currency, any move such as that would certainly not be welcomed by the power elite today, who are responsible for controlling the world's central banks Not to mention...there was never any evidence of a evil dictator, just media created lies.

http://www.facebook.com/groups/redivisionoftheworld/ http://redivisionoftheworld.wordpress.com This edition introduces a new version of Gaddafi's death, largely based on analysis of publicly available but often overlooked information. We believe that the capture and killing of the Colonel was staged, but would like you to draw your own conclusions. Step by step, we will show you how dirty political games are played and how little human life is worth. This video contains fairly graphic material, so viewer discretion is strongly advised. The Man Who Caught Gaddafi This week a lavish funeral was held in Misurata for one of the fighters against the Gaddafi regime. Omran Jumaa Shaaban was awarded such high honors for his outstanding achievement -- the capture of Colonel Gaddafi. It was he who had found the colonel hiding in a drainage pipe, and the world saw pictures of him happily mocking and gloating over his defenseless victim. But he didn't have long to bask in glory: a year later Omran Shaaban shared the sad fate of Colonel. Earlier in July Shaaban was sent with on an important mission to the city of Bani Walid. With him he had three friends, who were also involved in the operation to capture Gadhafi. This esteemed company was sent to Bani Walid to negotiate the release of two captured journalists with the city's elders. We should note that Bani Walid is the city that, until recently, was fighting for Gaddafi and broke neither under daily NATO bombing, nor under the numerous rebel assaults. Such steadfast resistance won the city the right to ignore policies of the new Libyan authorities: it does not recognize the new anthem, children are educated under the old school program and in general life goes on as it always has. And there is nothing the new government can do about it. Bani Walid is the capital of the Warfalla tribe, and these guys have no reason to love Libya's pro-American rulers. Under Gaddafi this tribe enjoyed exceptional privileges, but now its representatives have been expelled from all positions of power and are subjected to routine discrimination. It would seem that the best solution would be for the central government to organize a new assault on the rebellious city to solve this problem once and for all, but this isn't possible. Bani Walid is home to about 100 thousand people, all of whom are well armed and trained. If even NATO airstrikes didn't help break the city, the new government forces surely have no hope to take it either. This is why the authorities send diplomatic missions to Bani Walid, as if it were a troublesome neighbor and not their own Libyan territory. And more...
